Post-Election Bliss November 5, 2008 by Kaitlin Obama Supporter Takes Flight, originally uploaded by Foshowley. After the NPR Blogger Meet-up ended I started to walk back to the hotel but decided instead to follow the honking horns. Near what I think is the Verizon Center, I saw a crowd of people celebrating the Obama victory. Drunken, slap happy, post-election bliss went on for the next hour or so. Here’s a link to my flickr photostream. Posted in Flickr | Tagged Barack Obama,

As recently as Monday afternoon, I had a conversation with a political scientist regarding Congressional pickups and he didn’t see Virginia Democrats picking up more than one seat - VA-11. I thought it possible that we could get three, but the data just wasn’t there to support it. As I write this, not only did Gerry Connolly win, but it appears that Glenn Nye (02) and Tom Perriello (05) have also won. This was the big blue wave that I thought we’d see in Virginia in 2006. I toured the studios - like a beehive of activity - very complicated, to be honest, and people in head-down working mode. Many thanks to Andy Carvin and all the NPR staff who sat and blogged and typed with us. I would do it again in a heartbeat - to be part of something so un
